Project Description
The challenge was to keep the renovation of a historic home’s kitchen in character with the space, while bringing in the modern conveniences. We chose quarter-sawn red oak, mixing a custom stain to harmonize with the existing trim of the home and matching the dining room table in the next room. Cabinetry to the ceiling provided needed storage. Under cabinet lighting, light-colored subway tile and lighter-hued quartz tops brighten the space. In the nook area we built face frames and doors, applying them to the built-in cabinets from earlier times. To tie the two areas together, we wrapped the two side walls, completing the marriage.
